Raducanu chooses new entertainment as the fight continues for the return to tennis: “Feel more at home and my true self”

Emma Raducanu shares her new hobby while recovering from her injury.

At the age of 20, the young star has dealt with injuries several times and is currently recovering from operations on both his wrists and one of his ankles, which will keep him away from the courts for a while.

Her last competition was the Stuttgart Open, where she fell in the first round to Jelena Ostapenko. Her most recent victory was on March 13 in Indian Wells against Beatriz Haddad Maia.

In the midst of his recovery process, Raducanu has been hitting balls and taking part in physical training, albeit in a gentle way, as he continues to prepare for his return to competition.

Recently, he traveled to the city of Shenyang in China, where his mother was born, and now has new hobbies.

“I just learned Mahjong and I feel at home and my true self when I’m at the kitchen table at my grandmother’s or aunt’s place in Shenyang playing with the family.”

“These include Mahjong, piano, reading, learning new cultures and languages, motorsport, driving and diving.”

“On a day off, I like to practice piano… I just started learning and I still have a long way to go but I love the melodies once you get the hang of it.

“Also picked up Mahjong and now enjoy playing with anyone I can find. And I just love to drive.”

The British tennis player will probably return to the competition next year in search of better results. Since her remarkable victory at the 2021 US Open, where she defeated Leylah Fernandez in the final, Raducanu has not won any title and has not achieved good results, which is the opposite of what was expected after her victory in Flushing Meadows.

That year, he reached world No. 10 and perhaps became the great promise of his generation, a few months before Iga Swiatek became world No. 1. Let’s wait to see the level he shows when he returns to the courts.
