Pep Guardiola has laughed off Arsenal and Liverpool’s title comparison against Chelsea and Man Utd

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has given his verdict on his Premier League rivals so far this season and how they are starting life back in the Premier League. The Cityzens are the current reigning champions, having won their last four league titles in a row.

They were pushed towards the end of last campaign while Arsenal led for most of the year, only to be pipped late on. Also after the treble, adding the Champions League and FA Cup to their trophy cabinet last time, there is a hunger for more trophies.

City are the only team with a 100 percent winning record in the Premier League, having won all five of their opening games so far. There are plenty of other teams lining up to knock them off their perch though, after a summer of transfer additions.

Arsenal are one of the main candidates, having come close last season but missing out, while summer spending of £200 million has strengthened their ranks. Liverpool is another part of the quest, having completely changed their midfield and having 13 points obtained from a possible 15 on offer.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also sides hoping to be in the conversation for the Premier League title, but have yet to get the results they need. Both teams have six and five points respectively and will be looking to get more in the coming weeks.

Among all, Guardiola gave his assessment of the teams, telling reporters: “But you know how strong Arsenal are. Yesterday I saw them against [Everton at] Goodison Park, they are amazing and Liverpool again and the mentalities continue there.

A reporter added: “And Manchester United.” Guardiola continued: “[Laughs]. Well they didn’t start. They didn’t start [the way] they expect like Chelsea but they are always … Man United they are always with Chelsea, sooner or later they will get the rhythm. But that was important for us after winning the treble, five to five [wins] very good, very good.”
