Erik ten Hag has hinted that Manchester United will make at least one signing before the transfer window closes on Friday.
United are expected to bring in Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayındir as Dean Henderson is expected to join Crystal Palace, while Ten Hag want a left-back as Luke Shaw is expected to be sidelined for around two months with muscular damage.
Although United have brought in Mason Mount to bolster their midfield, they have been in the market for a second midfielder throughout the summer and Mount is out injured until next month.
Crystal Palace sporting director Dougie Freedman was in the directors’ box at Old Trafford for United’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest and Henderson’s 12-year association with United was effectively over. Henderson joined former Forest teammates in the tunnel at Old Trafford after full-time.

Donny van de Beek and Hannibal Mejbri were both left out of the matchday squad again amid the possibility of their departure.
United are expected to keep Harry Maguire after a £30million move to West Ham collapsed while they are yet to receive a fresh bid for Scott McTominay, who has sparked interest from the Hammers.
Ten Hag insisted that United should have two players per position and Turkey international Bayindir will provide back-up to Andre Onana.
“At United, we work in partnership with the whole club. We have the same targets, we put 100% effort and communication is good,” said Ten Hag. “If that is the case (that Henderson leaves), we will bring the news, we are well prepared, we are fully in control.
“When there are transfers we have to keep the team competitive, it’s a difficult season with a lot of games to cover, we need a double and in the guard position we need three in the Premier League standard, so we guard this.”
