Iga Swiatek admits that he sometimes finds it “difficult to understand how all this success happened” to him at such an early age. Swiatek, 22, is a four-time Grand Slam champion and has spent 75 consecutive weeks in the world No 1 spot.

It all started in 2020, when Swiatek introduced himself to the world of tennis by winning the French Open at 19. Today, Swiatek has 15 titles in his collection – mainly four at the Grand Slam level and five WTA 1000 title.

“What I’ve done since 2020 is pretty crazy. It’s hard for me sometimes to understand how it happened, because when I was young I didn’t know it was possible for me,” Swiatek said, via Relevant Tennis.

Swiatek is putting together a dominant season in 2022

Following the retirement of Ashleigh Barty in 2022 March, Swiatek replaced the former three-time Grand Slam champion in the world No 1 spot.

At the end of the 2022 season, Swiatek is widely regarded as the best player in the women’s game. Last year, Swiatek won a total of eight titles, including two Grand Slam titles. Also, Swiatek went on a streak of 37 consecutive wins between February and July – setting a new record for the most consecutive wins on the WTA Tour in the 21st century.

In late 2022, Swiatek – who was then 21 years old – admitted that he never expected to do what he did. “It’s really amazing. I never expected to have this kind of great experience so soon in my career.

I thought I would have that when I was in my prime at the age of 24 or 25 and have that experience. I’m very happy that I gave it my all and played well and was in place. My dreams have come true,” Swiatek said in 2022 October.
