Here’s Why You Can Buy a Claude Giroux Colorado Avalanche Jersey

In 2022, Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux is on the trading block. This is not surprising.

The trade market is reported to be between Colorado and Florida. Colorado was Giroux’s first choice, according to Colorado Hockey Now.

That deal never worked out. Giroux was traded to Florida in March 2022.

However, the Avalanche was prepared. Colorado has two Giroux home jerseys made. Colorado has sweaters ready – with his name and his familiar No. 28 – to present to Giroux at an introductory news conference when the Avalanche trade is complete.

Someone in Colorado probably thought the Giroux deal was about to happen.

Now, according to Jeff Veillette, a staff writer for Canada Sports Betting, both Giroux jerseys are being auctioned off to benefit Colorado owner Stan Kroenke’s Kroenke Sports Charities.

We just checked, and the current bid for one Giroux jersey is $350 and the other is $301. There’s still time to place a bid – click here. A Giroux Colorado jersey would be a rare collectible to own.

If you’re feeling flush, the current bid on an Alexandar Georgiev back-up goalie mask is $3,850.

Colorado, without Giroux, won the Stanley Cup in 2022. Giroux played 18 regular-season games and 10 playoff games at Florida in 2022. He went to Ottawa for three years, free- agent deal this past season.

He scored 35 goals and 44 assists (79 points) in 82 games for the Senators. The Panthers went to the Stanley Cup finals, losing to Vegas in six games.

The Flyers received Owen Tippett, a first-round pick in 2024 and a third-round pick in 2023 for Giroux, forward prospects Connor Bunnaman and German Rubtsov, and a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft.
