Chelsea prepare blockbuster swoop for concerned Barcelona ace; two targets open to Man Utd moves

Chelsea have revived their interest in Barcelona star Gavi, while Jean-Clair Todibo is open to joining Manchester United but is less certain about a move than another target – according to European transfer rumours. on Wednesday.

GAVI IS BACK ON THE CHELSEA RADAR

Chelsea are monitoring Barcelona midfielder Gavi, who is also interested in Paris Saint-Germain.

Like that Diario Sportin a report that reiterated that Gavi ‘always wanted to play, no matter what’ but now faces more competition for a place in Barcelona’s midfield.

Xavi’s side signed Ilkay Gundogan and ex-Chelsea man Oriol Romeu in Gavi’s position this summer. That means he’s not guaranteed to play in every big game this season.

With that in mind, SPORT confirmed that Chelsea remain interested in Gavi after expressing their admiration for his entourage earlier in the summer.

They have strengthened their own midfield in added Moises Caicedo in a deal that broke the British transfer record, while Romeo Lavia is on his way again.

However Chelsea are said to be in contention for Gavi, although they will be fielding a midfield of Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo and Lavia.

PSG are also keen on Gavi after confirming the departures of Leandro Paredes and Renato Sanches to Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Wednesday.

However, both of his suitors must still be disappointed, as Gavi only wants to succeed for Barcelona. He is under contract with Catalonia until 2026.

At just 19, he is ready to continue fighting for his place at Barcelona alongside the likes of Gundogan, Romeu, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri. But if his situation changes, the Spain international could open up another opportunity.

Chelsea are rebuilding their midfield this summer after the departures of N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

In addition to Caicedo (and soon Lavia), Lesley Ugochukwu also arrived, but if the Blues can strengthen the department, they could look to send him on loan.

Gavi would be a high-profile addition in west London after his 97 appearances for Barcelona to date, especially considering the fact he will be sacrificing Champions League involvement.

All things considered, it seems unlikely that Chelsea will sign Gavi this summer, but perhaps his situation will be one to watch for future windows as the season progresses.
