Bruins Fall to Devils in Prospects Challenge Finale

BUFFALO – Brett Harrison scored his third goal of the weekend but the Boston Bruins fell to the New Jersey Devils, 4-2, in the final game of the Prospects Challenge on Monday morning at the LECOM HarborCenter. Curtis Hall scored the other goal for the Bruins.

Despite the back-to-back losses to end the tournament, Providence Head Coach Ryan Mougenel thinks the players will still be able to take a lot from the experience.

“I think winning is important sometimes,” he said. “I think there are lessons learned both ways. I thought a lot of guys showed up really well. Sometimes, it’s a tough tournament. Some of the old men were fixing rust getting ready for the main camp. “

Mougenel thinks Harrison’s offensive game, in particular, shines in the Prospects Challenge.

“You see the offensive side of Harrison,” he said. “He has a wonderful gift. He’s a hockey rat. His intelligence is absolutely off the charts in how he thinks about the offensive game. He showed that he can put the puck in the net. “
