A drunken Dustin Johnson had Team USA in stitches at a chaotic Ryder Cup press conference

Dustin Johnson has a Ryder Cup to remember in 2021 and it looks like he’s having a great time with the celebrations afterwards.

DJ went 5-0 two years ago at Whistling Straits, becoming the first American to do so in the Ryder Cup since Larry Nelson in 1979.

Johnson is having an incredible week at the 2021 Ryder Cup

It was part of the complete thrashing that Team USA gave Team Europe, winning 19-9 – the largest winning margin since 1967.

The USA fielded their youngest team, with eight players under the age of 30 as well as eight of the top ten players in the world.

Johnson is the oldest player on the team at age 37, but it truly shows that age is just a number.

He won all five of his matches, becoming only the fifth player in Ryder Cup history to do so.

The celebrations started immediately after their victory and his age was raised by a reporter in their press conference.

Johnson was asked: “DJ, I know you’re the oldest player on the team. Do you think you still have the guts to out-party all these guys tonight?”

A badly dressed Johnson replied: “Abso-lutely…. Next question.”

This sent his younger teammates into hysterics.

Johnson’s colleagues were outraged by his response

The journalist then followed up with another question to the wider group: “Sad doubts for him. Well, what do the rest of the team think, do you think he has the output of stamina?

One of his USA teammates responded: “Yeah, is that a question?”

Johnson paused and said: “Next question, like I said.”
Cue more hysterics from his teammates.

That week provided redemption for Johnson as he went 1-4 in Paris in 2018, becoming world number one at the time.

“I wasn’t expecting 5-0-0, that’s for sure,” Johnson said. “But I never expected to play five games… obviously, it started well and I had a good partnership there with Collin and Xander, so the Captain kept us going.

“I feel like the game is coming together. The Ryder Cup is always a fun week. It’s really fun for us to come out and play golf like this just because we don’t usually do it.”

Things have changed dramatically for the now 39-year-old in the two years since the last Ryder Cup.

He took part in the controversial LIV Golf tour and was subsequently not selected for captain Zach Johnson’s 2023 team.
