Evans’ win sealed victory for GBpublished at 18:51
De Minaur 1-6 6-2 3-6 Evans
With that win, Britain won the tie against Australia and got a point on the board regardless of what happened in the doubles match.
Unfortunately for Dan Evans, he won’t have long to celebrate as he will be playing doubles in the next 20 minutes or so.
The British team still wants to get a result from the last match because, if the teams are not separated on points at the weekend, then the number of sets won by a team will count. Basically, the result of the doubles match is important.
Evans will join Wimbledon champion Neal Skupski against Max Purcell and Matthew Ebden.
