Barcelona have recently approved the loan of Sergino Dest to PSV Eindhoven, in what is considered to be an important strategic move for the club.
But the Catalans have their work cut out for them as they seek to offload two more unwanted first-team players in Clement Lenglet and Marcos Alonso.
Both players have been linked with a move away from Catalonia this summer, and there is a possibility they will move elsewhere at the end of the month.
What did Fabrizio Romano say about their future?
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via The Residency gave an update on the future of Alonso and Lenglet.
The Italian journalist suggested that the two Barcelona stars are currently available on the market, but nothing has progressed yet.
Alonso, for his part, is reportedly weighing up offers from the Premier League, but it appears the former Chelsea star would prefer to continue his spell at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona, ââhowever, had other ideas. They want to allow the sale of the aging full-back, which could ease the club’s finances and allow them to sign Joao Cancelo.
Clement Lenglet, on the other hand, has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. But he refused to leave Europe despite accepting a lucrative contract offer from the Middle East.
This has forced Barcelona to open the door for Tottenham to re-sign the defender this summer.
Lenglet, after all, comes off the back of an impressive season on loan in North London last season, with Spurs now keen to retain his services.
The Premier League giants, however, are unwilling to spend a fortune on Lenglet, with Barcelona’s â¬15 million demand proving a sticking point in negotiations.
But with the Catalans now desperate to offload Lenglet due to his high wages, the club could consider allowing a loan exit in this final week of the transfer market.
